Easy 2 and a half mile walk around Mission Creek
This walk is fantastic to see the wonderful houseboats on Mission Creek, with the Mission Bay development in the background. The condo units bordering the creek are particularly nice examples of Modern architecture done well and tastefully. The walk then takes you down Townsend to look in shops (we couldn’t resist Room and Board), then to John Henry where there are more shops and eateries. This area is under construction. For sure.

An example of one of the gated, condo communities in this area. Compact, tidy and comfortable, they are inviting indeed.

An open structure on Mission Creek housing kayaks. So evocative, fun and colorful.

Photos don’t do the design of these complexes bordering the creek justice.

A glimpse of the variety of house boats on the creek.

Daydreaming of houseboat life. The bird contemplating her options.

Another example of an apartment block making great use of space and landscaping on the creek

Use of open space and plants to break up the urban complexes.

Water, grass, modern building profiles.

Striking use of dark blue and orange paint works to great effect on this apartment block.

An expanse of promenade leading to China basin.

Terraced concrete entry with flowering bushes and trees works well here.
